The Prometheus Orchestra was founded in 2008 by a group of local professional musicians and is now established a vital part of Suffolk’s musical landscape, giving regular concerts in Snape, Aldeburgh and across East Anglia. With music director Edmond Fivet and Suffolk-based trumpeter John Jermy, this thrilling programme contrasts all the shades of darkness and light, with fresh and joyful works from Hummel and Mozart alongside Alwyn’s ethereal Tragic Interlude and Mozart’s restless 40thSymphony, a ground-breaking work which continues to exhilarate and astonish audiences today.
